Descrizione

There is a significant number of State Dept. employees who ride Metrobus and get off at the 23rd and C Street NW bus stop, located on the west side of 23rd street. It is clear the traffic signals were installed for the benefit of cars, but certainly not for the benefit of pedestrians having to cross 23rd Street. The green light for cars lasts entirely too long, but worse is that it is difficult for pedestrians to see the lights from sidewalk to see when it is green for them. Also, the lights conflict, so when southbound traffic has a red light, northbound traffic still has a green light. So not only is that confusing for pedestrians, it is doublt so because it is hard to actually see what color is the light from the pedestrian's vantage point. Pedestrians end up dashing across the streest against the light because they are uncertain when they have the right of way and are frustraed from waiting solng for the light to chnage. There is great risk that a pedestrian will be struck by a car. Please have someone
